DISTRICT HEALTH SOCIETY, NALANDA
Recognizing the importance of Health in the process of economic and social development and improving the quality of life of Indian citizens, the Government of India (GoI) has resolved to launch the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in April 2005 to carry out necessary architectural correction in the basic health care delivery system. The Goal of the Mission is to improve the availability and access to quality health care by people, especially for those residing in rural areas, the poor, women and children. Under the aegis of NRHM The District Health Society, (DHS)Nalanda has been established to guide its functionaries towards receiving ,manages (including disbursement to implement account for the funds received from the State Health Society, Bihar Patna) organizes training, meetings and interdistrict exchange visits etc for deriving inputs for improving the implementation of NRHM in the district.
