Patna, April 9, 2017: Keeping the 2019 general elections in mind. BJP Bihar has decided to reach out voters through its booth-level campaign. For this the party has organised two-day training for its volunteers to reach 63000 polling booths across the state.

The training also marked the centenary year celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. A party official said the party cadres would spread the thoughts of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya among rural people.

He said the volunteers and leaders of the party would tell the people about the schemes launched by the Central Government for the benefit of rural masses.

Patna, April 9, 2017: About 20000 students appeared in Simultala Residential School admission test in 43 centres across the state on Sunday.

Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducted the test for admission in 2017- 18 session for classes 6, 7 and 9.

As there was no negative marking, all the candidates looked happy while returning back to their homes from Miller School and SGD School Patliputra centres here.

Patna, April 9, 2017: Sikh community on Sunday felicitated Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his outstanding contribution to make the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj a grand success with Guru Pyara title.

Kes Shambhal Prachar Sanstha members honoured Kumar in a felicitation function organised at Bihar Niwas in New Delhi. Sikh community people showered praise on Kumar for hospitality shown by the State Government to Sikh devotees during the Prakash Parv.

On the occasion, noted artist Kulwant Singh Gill presented a portrait of the Chief Minister.

"The honour is not just for me but it is the honour for Bihar," Kumar said.

Patna, April 9, 2017: One Railway Protection Force assistant sub inspector (ASI) and six jawans of Railway Protection Security Force (RPSF) were suspended following theft-cum-robbery incident in the Patna bound Rajdhani Express on Sunday.

Sources said miscreants struck in the A4, B7 and B8 coaches of the 12310 New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Rajdhani Express in between Mughalsarai and Buxar section of the East Central Railway in the wee hours of Sunday and decamped with cash, jewellery and other valuables lakh of rupees from about a dozen of passengers when the rain made an unscheduled halt at Gahmar due to some technical snag in the signaling system.

Passengers have lodged complaints at Government Railway Police (Patna Junction) and the case was later referred to Superintendent of Railway Police (Allahabad).
Police are probing into the matter keeping all aspects open regarding possible involvement of coach attendant and other railway employees in the incident.

Patna, April 8, 2017: Stage is set for centenary celebrations of the Satyagrah Movement at Convention Centre here to be held on Monday. The 100 years celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's Champaran Satyagrah Movement will officially start from April 10 at newly built Gyan Bhavan with a two-day seminar on Gandhian thoughts.
Fifty-two Gandhian thinkers from different parts of the country will participate in it.
It may be recalled that Mahatma Gandhi arrived in Patna on April 10, 1917 on his way to Champaran.

Patna, April 8, 2017: Fire broke out in the huts located near the western end of the Patliputra Junction railway station of the East Central Railway on Saturday. The fire started leaping towards Gorakhpur-Patliputra Express train which was placed at the platform number 3 of the station.
Sensing the danger, the station master asked the driver to place the train out of the danger zone.
Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police jawans swung into action and tried to tame the flame with the help of local people.
Fire tenders rushed to the spot and douse the flame. No casualty was reported as the people residing in the huts took shelter in safer places seeing the flame.
