11 children get Bal Kalashree Awards Posted: 13 Apr 2017 04:19 AM PDT Patna, April 12, 2017: Eleven kids got Bal Kalashree Awards for their extraordinary talent in vocal, instrumental and dance at Hindi Sahitya Sammelan hall here on Wednesday. Bihar Kalashree Purashkar Parishad selected the children for the awards. MLC CP Sinha, MLA Arun Kumar and Shivdutt Mishra gave away the prizes. The awarded kids are Nisha Kumari, Prachi Singh, Akarsh, Ananya Deep, Swarnika Rai, Addya Shiva, Siddarth Samvardhan, Lakshyajeet Divyamohan, Srishti, Akul Ambasta and Silvia Mishti. Pharmacists call off agitation Posted: 13 Apr 2017 03:55 AM PDT Patna, April 12, 2017: Pharmacists called off their strike on an assurance given by the health department's special secretary Shankar Prasad that appointment of pharmacists would begin from next month. Bihar State Pharmacists Association president Rajnath Kumar said they would return their degrees to the State Governor if government does not start the appointment process next month. Earlier members of the association took out a rally in support of their demands from Gardanibagh to Kargil Chowk but police did not allow them to go ahead. Dr Abhay Kumar is the new general secretary of PUTA Posted: 13 Apr 2017 01:35 AM PDT Dr Randhir was declared winner for the post of president without any contest and so were Dr Amita Jaiswal and Irshad Ali for joint secretaries and Dr Dinesh Prasad Kamal for the post of treasurer. The Wednesday's poll outcome saw Shefali Roy of Patna Women's College (Political Science Department) bagging one of the posts of vice-president. Dr MP Trivdei also won one slot of vice president finishing second in the battle. Chemistry teacher of Science College Dr Abhay Kumar became the new general secretary of the association getting 166 votes in his favour. His nearest rival Dr Shiv Sagar Prasad polled 93 votes. Bihar Govt to continue skill development and placement scheme for minority youths Posted: 13 Apr 2017 01:30 AM PDT Addressing certificate distribution programme of Union Government run Tool Room Training Centre here on Wednesday , he said the aim of the mission was to make youths self dependent. Bihar State Minority Finance Commission has been financing the project under Mukhyamantri Shram Shakti Yojana. Thirty-six youths, who were placed under the scheme in the first batch of 80 youths, have got their placements. Eleven trainees were granted financial help to start their own projects. BSEB cancels affiliation of 50 more schools Posted: 12 Apr 2017 11:49 PM PDT With this, the BSEB has so far cancelled the affiliation of 174 schools/colleges for lack of infrastructure and other essential papers to run sound academic activities. The BSEB had 212 schools/colleges under suspension after the intermediate topper scam surfaced May/June last year. BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said that affiliations of 26 schools had been annulled while FRI had been lodged against five schools. He said the BSEB had given time to 4 schools to rectify the anomalies while 2 schools had been suspended. The mobile vans carry documentary films on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and pictures related to freedom struggle. Before, flagging off the vans, Kumar watched a film on Gandhi along with people's representatives, government employees and students at Adhiveshan Bhavan.
