| Power Grid Corporation donates 20 ambulances to Bihar State Health Society Posted: 20 Apr 2017 09:35 AM PDT    Patna: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited donated 20 ambulances to State Health Society, Bihar. In a function on Wednesday Bihar Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav and principal secretary of health department, RK Mahajn flagged off the ambulances for different districts. | Hepatitis C is more serious disease than hepatitis B, says Dr Vijay Prakash Posted: 20 Apr 2017 09:08 AM PDT  Patna: Observing the World Liver Day, head of the gastroenterology department of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) Dr Vijay Prakash on Wednesday said hepatitis C is more serious disease than the hepatitis B. "But the disease can be diagnosed and cured as good medicines are available in the market on economic rate. Now, one can get medicines at Rs 45000 for full course ," he said. "About 70 to 80 per cent of patients suffering from hepatitis C, has been seen cured by taking proper medicines", he said. "We have vaccine for hepatitis B but still don't have it for C", he said. He also stressed the need to streamline blood bank system in the state. "There are guidelines for it in national-level but sufficient work has not been done in the last 15 years and this is one of the reasons of spreading hepatitis as patients take blood from anywhere during their needs", he said. | Contractual para medical employees of PMCH and NMCH go on indefinite strike Posted: 20 Apr 2017 03:08 AM PDT   Patna, April 19, 2017: Contractual para medical employees of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) went on indefinite strike from Wednesday demanding equal play for equal work and regularisation of their service. The strike has badly affected the normal functioning of these two hospitals as 29 operations in NMCH and 31 operations in PMCH have been postponed. The strike will hamper the normal functioning of the hospitals in the days to come as lab technicians, operation theater assistants, X-ray technicians, pharmacists and dressers have joined the strike. In PMCH, nurses finally came to rescue of the penitents for dressings. However, nurses did the dressings of female patients only. Bihar Rajya Chikitsya Evm Janswasth Karmachari Sangh general secretary Vishwanath Singh said the strike was successful. Para Medical Employees Association president Surjeet said they have been opposing government move to start fresh appointments retrenching the old employees, who have been working for the last 10 years. "We have struck work in 2015 also and at that time government has assured us that services of contractual employees will be regularised but nothing has been done in this regard till now", he said. | Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurates 100-seat BPO in Patna Posted: 20 Apr 2017 01:57 AM PDT     "India has been growing fast as IT hub and job opportunities have been increasing steadily through digitization and information technology", he said at the inaugural function of Bihar's first 100-seat Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) at Patliputra Software Technology Park of India (STPI) here. He said digital payment has increased by 1000 to 1200 per cent in the past a few months. He said the Central Government had already chalked out plan to create BPOs in small cities. "We have earmarked 48000 BPO seats in the country. Among these, Bihar will get 4600 seats", he said. BJP MLAs Sanjeev Chaurasia, Nitin Navin, STPI director Manas Ranjan Panda, deputy director Rajiv Kumar and Swatantra Kumar Bharti of Maestros Technical Services Private Limited were present on the occasion. | Central Institute of Plastic and Engineering Technology in Motihari soon Posted: 19 Apr 2017 10:55 PM PDT    Patna, April 19, 2017: Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar arrived at Patna airport on Wednesday on his way to Motihari to participate in centenary celebrations of Champaran Satygrah. Several BJP leaders including Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Dr Prem Kumar and former state president of the BJP Mangal Pandey welcomed Kumar at the airport. Later, addressing a public meeting at Motihari Jila School ground, the minister said Barauni Fertilizer Plant would restart again within 3 years. He said the central government has decided to establish Central Institute of Plastic and Engineering Technology in Motihari. "The institute will be named as Champaran Satyagrah Centenary Celebration Institute", he said. He said the Centre had already decided to reopen closed fertilizer plants across the country.
