Posted: 22 Apr 2017 12:26 PM PDT Patna, April 22, 2017: Poster campaigns, seminars and plantation of saplings marked the Earth Day here on Saturday, The day is celebrated worldwide across 195 countries with a mission to protect environment and save earth from man made disaster. AN College students showed the march of science with a caution stressing on the need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet while students at Kargil Chowk distributed saplings to people for protection of environment. At Government Girls School, Bankipore, a seminar was organised on how to save earth through environment and climate literacy. Jashodaben reaches Patna on 3-day Bihar visit Posted: 22 Apr 2017 11:10 AM PDT Bihar Tailik Sahu Sabha organised a grand welcome ceremony at the airport for Jashodaben. The members of Sabha presented flower bouquet to her and performed aarti. From airport, she was taken to hotel Maurya where she was again accorded grand welcome. Members of the Tailik Sahu Sabha presented her a shawl and memento. In her brief speech, she called upon the girls of the Sahu community to come forward for the development of state and society. On Sunday, Jashodaben will leave for Begusarai to unveil the statue of Bhamashah in a function. She will stay there for the day. PMCH para medical employees call of strike Posted: 22 Apr 2017 03:02 AM PDT Patna, April 21, 2017: Contractual para medical employees of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) called off their indefinite strike on Friday evening while strike continued at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital. PMCH para medical employees called off their strike on an assurance given to them by the state health director-in chief Dr Azad Hind Prasad that there demands would be considered. But the effect of the strike was witnessed through out the day as 23 operations were cancelled in NMCH while 61 operations were postponed in the PMCH. NMCH emergency ward to have 100 beds soon Posted: 22 Apr 2017 12:39 AM PDT A meeting of the NMCH Patients Welfare Committee was held on Friday with Patna Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishor on chair to discuss the development plan of the hospital. Kishor said the hospital authorities and concerned department have been directed to this regard. He said there would be 25 tables in the labour room and 50 additional beds would be created in the post operative ward. At present there are only eight beds in the labour room. He said the Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMSICL has been asked to complete all formalities by May 15 and start construction by the end of May. BMSICL has also been directed to arrange endoscopy machine in the NMCH by June 15. Among the other issues taken up in the meeting were immediate appointments of lab technician, dresser, X-ray technician, OT assistant, ECG technician and dialysis technician on contract basis. Kishor also asked the hospital management to earmark the approved vacant posts and publish advertisement to fill up the vacancies. "The posts which are not approved, tender it for outsourcing agency through proper advertisement", he said. The meeting has also approved the posts for one bio-medical engineer and one mechanic for the hospital. The Patients Welfare Committee has also granted a sum of Rs 40000 per month to emergency department of the hospital for providing medical aid and medicines to poor and helpless patients. |
Now, commerce graduates too can apply for TET Posted: 22 Apr 2017 12:29 AM PDT The education department has sent a directive to Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) to modify their eligibility criteria. The BSEB is holding the TET which is scheduled for June 11. Meanwhile, 17 BEd college students under the banner of All India Students Association took out a rally and staged strong demonstration demanding inclusion of 2016-18 batch students in the forthcoming TET. The police, however, stopped the protesters from going ahead near JP round about. Later, a delegation of the students met the education department director and put forward their claims for TET. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP) activists also took out a procession from BN College to Kargil Chowk demanding inclusion of commerce graduate in the TET. |
