Answer books evaluation work will finish by April 30, says BSEB chairman Anand Kishor

Patna: Bihar School Examination Board chairman Anand Kishor hoped that evaluation of intermediate and matric examinations answer books would be completed within the stipulated time frame.

Kishor exuded the confidence after holding video conferencing with the district education officers, district project officers and copy evaluation centres in-charges on the progress of the intermediate and matric examination answer books.

He said the evaluation of copies in most the districts has been progressing impressively well and it would be completed by April 30.

He said the evaluation works in Muzaffarpur, Bhojpur and Lakhisarai districts were not satisfactory.

He said notices would be served to the three district education officer over the inordinate delay in the evaluation work.

He said daily monitoring of the evaluation work would be done for the districts which were lagging behind the target.

As per the progress chart, evaluation work is complete in Kaimur district while Patna has done almost 90 per cent work.

Meanwhile, BSEB has extended the dates of internal assessment of matric examinations for science and social science and option subjects like home science, music, dance and fine arts practical examinations.

As per the new schedules, the practical examinations for optional subjects will be held in between April 2 to April 30.

The schools have been asked to submit marks obtained by students, roll sheet and attendance sheet to respective district education officers office by May 2.


The DEOs would submit the required papers to BSEB office by May 4, the BSEB release stated.

All Bihar colleges will get free Wi-FI facility by May 15

Patna: All the colleges and state universities of Bihar will be connected with free Wi-Fi service by May 15 this year. The government has set the ball rolling as 100 colleges have already got the facility.

The free internet facility to college students comes under one of the seven resolves of Nitish Kumar led Grand Alliance government in Bihar.

The project to provide internet facility through free wi-fi on all 319 colleges of the state was expected to complete by February this year but electricity supply in the institutions had proved to be major hurdle in this regard.

Now, to get rid of the power problems, Information Technology Department has decided to install solar power system in the colleges to run Wi-Fi facility.

The department stated that 255 colleges have so far connected with the internet network. The department will spend Rs 245 crores in next five years in this project.

The free internet through Wi-Fi scheme will be extended further to medical, engineering, agriculture, teachers training colleges very soon.

For this purpose, a central control room has been constructed at Beltron Bhavan. The control room will keep close eye on students' activities through user threat management device (UTM). Students can open the websites, which are permitted by the control room, in their laptops, smart phones and tabs.

Users will get separate ID and password to connect with the Wi-Fi.


Junior doctors to strike work on April 24

Patna: Junior doctors of Bihar will go on 24 hours token strike on Monday (April 24) in protest against the attacks on doctors at SKMCH (Muzaffarpur) following death of a patient.

In a meeting held on Saturday, Junior Doctors Association (JDA) has demanded security arrangements in all medical college hospitals within 24 hours.

They also demanded action against the culprits.  A JDA spokesman said they would not disturb emergency service during strike but they would remain abstain from duty in out patients department (OPD) and wards.

"If the government fails to provide proper security arrangements for doctors and hospitals within 48 hours, they will go on indefinite strike", he said.

Meanwhile, Indian Medical Association (IMA-Bihar) office-bearers reached Muzaffarpur to take the stock of the situation.  The delegation also prepared a memorandum of demands for raising it before the government and seeks its implementation within a week.

The IMA has also decided to meet chief minister Nitish Kumar on the increasing incidents of assault on doctors.

Patna: Arun Kumar Singh has been unanimously elected president of Bima Karmachari Sena (Bihar-Jharkhand) in the annual meeting of the association at AN Sinha Institute on Saturday.

SN Yagni has been elected as general secretary while Sanjay Srivastva has been chosen as organizing secretary. Pramila Kumari has been nominated as treasurer.


Speaking on the occasion, Bima Karmachari Sena's all India general secretary Dinesh Bhopati said the he would raise the demands of the employees before the government.

National yoga conference on April 24

Patna: Yoga Vidya Samvardhak Mandal will organize national yoga conference here on April 24. About 1500 yoga experts from all over the country will participate in it.

Yoga Vidya Samvardhak Mandal president Dr Prabhakar Bhatt said yoga experts would also present research papers in the conference.

He said Dr Gopal Prasad Sinha would be the chief guest while former Cheif Minister Dr Jagannath Mishra would preside over the conference.
