Patna Police arrest 5 persons for trying to leak NEET paper

Patna, May 7: Patna Police have arrested five persons when they were allegedly trying to leak the question paper of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) here on Sunday.

Out of the five arrested, two were doctors.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said acting on a tip off a police team arrested five persons from an area under Patrakar Nagar police station for allegedly trying to leak question papers of NEET examination.


Police recovered mobile phones and electronic gadgets from the arrested persons. Police also seized a pick up van Those arrested are the gang's kingpin and Patna MedicalCollege and Hospital (PMCH) student Shiv Kumar, Nalanda Medical Collegeand Hospital (NMCH) student Shivam Mandal, law student Avinash Roshan, a private school coordinator Avinash Chandra Dubey and a pick van driver Sanjay Yadav, the SSP stated in a release.

Tigers in Patna Zoo too feel the heat punch

Patna: Sunday was very hot and humid in the state capital. Though the mercury did not cross 40 degree Celsius mark but the eastern wind laced with humidity created a sultry weather. Tigers in the Patna Zoo too felt the heat as they remained in their cage pond for the major part of the day to get some relief from the excessive heat.

SIS to give Rs 2 lakh each to 6 slain CRPF jawans family members

Patna: BJP's  Rajya Sabha Member RK Sinha said the SIS would give Rs 2 lakh each to the family members of the six CRPF jawans from Bihar, who were killed in Naxal attack in Sukma recently.

Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Sinha said the SIS would also provide job to one member of the martyrs' family when they attain the job age.

He said SIS would organise a felicitation function for martyrs family members at Bankipore Club here on May 11.

Briefing the SIS corporate social responsibility initiative, Sinha, who is also the chairman of the company, said the company had spent Rs 1.70 crore in 1016-2017 comparing to Rs 89 lakh it spent in 2015-2016.
