ITR Filing: Last date for AY 2020-21 extended – ITR 1, ITR 2 and ITR 4 available for e-filing

ITR Filing 2020 Last Date: The last date for Income Tax Return (ITR) filing for AY 2020-21 has been extended to November 30, 2020. It will be applicable for filing of ITR for the financial year 2019-20. The income tax department has informed about the extension in its twitter handle today. The due date for the income tax return for the FY 2019-20 (AY 2020-21) has now been extended to November 30, 2020. The returns of income which are required to be filed by 31st July, 2020 and 31st October, 2020 can be filed up to 30th November, 2020.
The government has also extended the date for making various investment/ payment for claiming deduction under Chapter-VIA-B of the IT Act which includes section 80C (LIC, PPF, NSC etc.), 80D (Mediclaim), 80G (Donations) to 31st July, 2020. Now the investment/ payment can be made upto 31st July, 2020 for claiming the deduction under these sections for FY 2019-20.
The government had also extended the last date for the issuance of Form 16 by employers to their employees. In fact, the extension has been given for all TDS ( tax deducted at source) certificates, including Form 16.
The CBDT had recently notified the Income Tax Return Form 1 to Form 7 for the assessment year (AY) 2020-21. However, the income tax return filing is currently available only for those who wish to file ITR 1, ITR 2 and ITR 4 for AY 2020-21. The income tax department has informed that ITR 1, ITR 2 and ITR 4 for AY 2020-21 is available for e-Filing by downloading either excel or Java utility while other ITRs will be available shortly.
And, for those who were not able to complete their tax-saving exercise by March 31, 2020 because of the COVID-19 led lockdown across the country, the government had already extended the date till July 31, 2020. It is important to note that there is no change in the financial year and only the extension has been made to complete tax savings for FY 2019-20.

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) has declared the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) or class 12th Science, Commerce and Vocational streams exam results 2020.
Students who have taken the exam can check their results at www.megresults.nic.in, www.meghalayaonline.in, www.meghalaya.shiksha, and www.results.shiksha.

This year, around 3,615 students from Science stream and 2203 from Commerce stream have appeared in the Meghalaya Board examinations this year. The MBOSE HSSLC exam 2020 began on March 2. There are 12 candidates in the Vocational stream.
The result booklet of MBoSE examination has been discontinued from 2014 according to controller of examinations TR Laloo. He also said the results booklet can be downloaded from the board’s official website www.mbose.in. Laloo said that there will be no display of Maghalaya board results in MBoSE office at Tura and Shillong and even in the examination centres due to the COVID-19 situation.

Bihar School Examination Board aka BSEB has started their college/school admission process through online mode. The online admission system is for the students to want to apply for admission into intermediate colleges and schools. Complete lockdown imposed on ten districts of Bihar amid spike in Covid-19 cases


A complete lockdown has been imposed on ten districts of Bihar including capital Patna beginning today due to an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases. Three-day lockdown has been imposed in four districts of Buxar,Nawada Supaul and Kishanganj. In Khagaria, lockdown has been placed for five days till 14th of this month. In Patna, Munger, Madhepura, Kaimur and Purnea districts lockdown will continue till 16th of this month.

The State government has also ordered a complete lockdown in districts of Begusarai, Nalanda and Vaishali for six days starting tomorrow.

As part of the containment measures, Government offices and Public corporations shall remain closed. All private and commercial establishments will also remain closed. However, Ration shops, dairy, Vegetables and meat shops will remain open between 6 am and 10 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm. All places of worship and religious gatherings will also be closed. All kinds of e-commerce and home delivery will be allowed. Public transport service will also be allowed in the lockdown period. However, private vehicles will be limited to essential works only. Train and flight services have been allowed. Wearing of masks has been made mandatory for all. 14 days home quarantine has been made necessary for all rail passengers.

Meanwhile the state recorded 704 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total tally to 13,978. On the other hand, 9,792 persons have recovered so far, while 4076 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. The recovery rate in Bihar stands at 70 per cent. 103 people have died due to Corona in the state.
