Fidelity Investments India launches seventh edition of ‘Resume’, a career ‘returnship’ program for women

Mumbai, April 18th, 2023 – Fidelity Investments India has announced the 2023 edition of Resume, its flagship program that provides women on a mid-career break an opportunity to re-enter the workforce. The program seeks to tap into this vast pool of prospective talent thereby contributing to the organization’s diversity and promoting its high-performance culture.

Through the six-month program, candidates are provided mentorship and learning opportunities and integrated into project teams. The program offers them internship opportunities across grades and business functions, including operations, technology, analytics, and the business-enabling groups. Participants get to work on live business projects and learn from functional experts. They also get opportunities to leverage the firm’s extensive learning resources and participate in community impact and employee engagement programs, enhancing their readiness towards final selection as full-time employees. During the program, the interns receive pay and benefits equivalent to that of full-time employees.

The company also provides holistic support across multiple fronts such as:

 

· Resume alumni who are currently working at Fidelity Investments India provide candidates buddy support to enable a seamless re-entry into the workforce

· The organization provides candidates specially curated learning and development levers based on their specific needs and role requirements

· A nurturing ecosystem with strong manager support and leadership commitment, which helps candidates integrate well into the system and build successful careers

Speaking on the launch of the Resume 2023 edition, Seema Unni, Head – HR, and Regional Leader, Fidelity Investments India, said, “Resume is one of our critical flagship programs that has contributed immensely towards enhancing the diversity of thought and perspectives in our organization. Through the program, we have been able to tap into the vast pool of this critical talent and bring them back into the workforce, enabling them to build their careers with us.”

“Further, the holistic nature of the program covering diverse aspects such as mentorship, hands-on projects, formal training, and peer learning through the buddy system helps reinforce the confidence and capabilities of women participating in the program. This has resulted in many of them securing roles with the firm post the six-month period,” Seema added.

Padmapriya Natarajan, Director – Technology, and Resume program alumnus, said, “After a two-year career pause, I rejoined the workforce through Fidelity's Resume program. The firm has given me several exciting opportunities to participate in, lead initiatives and grow in my career.”

Nidhi Joshi, Service Delivery Leader, India Operations, who is also a Resume program alum, said, “Through the Resume Buddy initiative, I was able to settle down quickly in the organization and progress in my career. Today, I am able to pay it forward by supporting and being a buddy for new Resume candidates.”

Since its launch in 2015, the program has helped several women professionals re-enter the workforce. All participants from the program also have access to a facilitative ecosystem and a strong network of alumni as part of the program, enabling a faster learning curve.
