The state government will open libraries up to the panchayat level. For this further action will be taken in coordination with the Panchayati Raj Department. However, the standard will also be fixed for the establishment of rural libraries. At present there is no standard of village population. For this, the government will also constitute a separate committee. Apart from this, a mobile library will also be established again in the state. Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department Deepak Kumar Singh reviewed the library with the senior officials. It was decided in the meeting that the government would start purchasing books for the libraries soon. The book has not been purchased after the year 2011-12 under matching scheme with the amount of 60:40 ratio from the joint fund of Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata and the Government. Not only this, it was decided to make separate rules for the workers of non-state classified libraries. The corpus fund amount is not being utilized in the public libraries of the state. Detailed information has also been sought regarding this. Action will be taken in coordination with the Mahadalit Mission to establish a library in Scheduled Tribe dominated villages. Initiative will be taken to ensure that state libraries get grants on time.
